Hybrid events are now being called the future of the events industry. Even as the pandemic across the globe is settling and economies are reviving, virtual events have played an instrumental role in the past few months to bridge the communication gap and this has given rise to noteworthy advancements in the events industry.
After six months of virtual events, the first channel event in Chicago called Channel Strong – The Positive Vibes Tour decided to get the show on the road from August 10 – August 21, 2020. Their 7000 miles, luxury bus journey in the United States believes in a little connection, a lot of community, and some goodwill. The Channel Strong event sponsors include bvoip, Pax8, Acronis, Liongard, ConnectBooster, Compliancy Group, Equilibrium Consulting, and SOCSoter.
The second event, starting today, is the Xchange+ 2020 with the concept of the hybrid events conducting multi-city regional events clubbed with a virtual experience from August 18 – August 20, 2020.The XChange+2020 premium event sponsors include, Pax8, Intermedia Cloud Communications, ConnectWise, datto, Brasil IT+ , EATON, solarwinds, Carbonite & Webroot, Zix appriver, Life is on and APC.
A recent post on Forrester stated, “Given the fact that we have 54 channel media organizations and dozens of associations, peer groups, social groups, and vendor and distributor communities that run and leverage events throughout the year, it is likely that we will return to 80–90% back to normal by 2022.”
Physical events are now reopening slowly and companies are moulding their strategies accordingly. As Jay McBain, Principal Analyst, Channel Partnership and Alliances, points out, “People are looking to maximize networking, including more hallway chats and hotel lobby bar conversations, and for content to be “on-demand” to replay later — perhaps on the plane home or via podcast.”
